With the help of local man Selwyn Williams (he really is a walking encyclopedia couldn't do it without him) and our efforts over the past years we now have definite wreck sites along the Chesil and convincing evidence to suggest we have located further sites. The wrecks concerned are Lanoma wrecked 1888, Piedmont, Catherine, Venus, all wrecked in1795, De Hoop wrecked 1749, The Marquis of Worcester wrecked 1797and very tentatively possibly a canon from the Zenobia wrecked in 1762.Not bad considering we still have over 200 sonar marks to look at but then again still plenty to do as there are literally hundreds of wrecks along the Chesil from the Cove to West bay although at this time we are concentrating our efforts up as far as Langton Herring. We start diving again soon and this year Selwyn will be joining us, I will be getting me old bones in the water again as well so watch this space and give me a shout if you want to join us. The picture shows how our sonar contact map is now building as we identify targets, the area covered is approx seven miles long
